I was happy to hear the show features some of the organizations these women are associated with and very happy to hear of this organization benefiting battered women. I love the name “Twisted Hearts, Battered but not broken.” It can be the story every woman has that has had to endure such circumstances, if they choose…battered but not broken. Been there, done that.
I overcame a very abusive and torturous childhood. Later I made some choices that led me done a road of destruction and into an emotionally abusive, draining and self-deteriorating marriage that had robbed me of my self esteem and I lost everything about me. After 16 years, 4 children, 2 bankruptcies and sacrafice after sacrifice in the name of my children and out of fear of not being able to make it on my own I devised a plan to leave. Fortunate for me I always worked, it was my way out and my plan was to get to a point where I would make enough money to be ok on my own. I made a choice to be healed and delivered and although the journey had its ups and downs I am stronger and my life is great! I made some sacrifices to be where I am today and they were not easy ones but I am here and I thank God for where I am today.
When people look at me they have no idea where I have been in life and I am also so very thankful for that. Reminds me of Radshack, Meshack and Abendigo (sp). What a testimony to pass onto other people who are walking that road or are on the road to recovery.
My dream is to be able to reach out to others and show them what can happen if you really want your life to change. One preacher told me “if you want something different in your life you have to do something different.” I also had to realize my beginning was not my ending, nor my destiny. I am so greatful for your organization and I believe God is really going to bless in a mighty way.

Obstacles are not roadblocks, just opportunities to change direction or focus to reach the end result even if you must take an alternate route.

  2. Leading Lady says:

I am a survivor of domestic violence for over fifteen years. I have recently relocated to Atlanta, Ga from California. I have been a single mother since 1997 raising four children alone, I began to watch the show on bravo, and once I heard Ms.Leaks has a foundation catering to helping women who are in domestic violence relationships, I began to cry because, I know how it is to have to live a life in the dark. I would like to become a volunteer for the foundation and speak to woman and let them know thier is light at the end of the tunnel for them.

I have been resarching online trying to locate the foundation. But I am leaving my story every place I can praying for a miracle hoping I can reach Ms. Leaks in hope of helping here reach out to others.

    Thank you and God Bless
