Lobster Rolls

Some say the lobster roll was developed as a vehicle for well-heeled ladies to daintily eat the decadent crustacean at luncheons. Others say it was born to utilize the leftover parts of picked lobster. The stories of its origin are as varied as its preparations.

A few things are certainly required though: A top-sliced bun, a good swipe of butter and a luscious heap of fresh Maine lobster.

It’s officially summer, meaning it’s time to change our eating habits as vibrant produce is bountiful and fresh from the farms making for delicious local food. Executive Chef Janine Falvo and her team at Briza, an Atlanta Midtown restaurant, are proud to launch their new summer menu.

Chef Falvo incorporated some of her signature dishes into the new menu. She recommends diners start with the pei mussels (Sweetwater 420, poblanos, garlic grilled bread) and the fried chicken (waffle bites, coca cola bbq sauce). Then enjoy one of several new entrees, including the berkshire pork chop (summer succotash, bacon-tomato broth, crispy okra) and the halibut (lobster homefries, truffled hollandaise). And, just in time for fresh peach season, the bartenders have mastered the georgia bellini (sparkling wine, muddled georgia peach).

Briza, an Atlanta farm-to-table restaurant, is adjacent to the Renaissance® Atlanta Midtown Hotel at 866 West Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta. Briza serves up farm-to-table fare with a Southern flair for diners looking for a new culinary experience. Briza, a restaurant in Atlanta with private dining options, also provides the perfect vibe for wedding-related festivities, such as an Atlanta rehearsal dinner venue.

Tankless Water Heaters

Rinnai tankless gas water heaters will now be standard equipment in gas-appliances homes built Ryland Homes in Atlanta.

Rinnai America Corp. has partnered with Ryland Homes-Atlanta Division on an agreement that says all Ryland Atlanta homes specified with gas appliances will come standard with a Rinnai Luxury Series tankless water heater.

The tankless water heaters operate only when there is a demand for hot water, and Rinnai designed the units to use up to 40% less energy than tank-style water heaters and giving them Energy Star qualification. The Luxury Series has four models, with interior and exterior units and offering up to 199,000 BTUs. The top-level unit can deliver up to 9.4 gallons of hot water per minute – enough to supply continuous hot water for as many as five plumbing and appliance outlets simultaneously.
